Scouts BSA Troop 115

Troop 115 in Tallahassee was chartered by the Boy Scouts of America(BSA) in 1962. We provide scouts the opportunity to learn, mature and become leaders, through outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, fishing, boating, pioneering and many community service projects.

Scoutmasters provide adult supervision, through the Patrol Method. The Scouts teach each other to cook, clean and care for themselves and their fellow scouts. Most importantly, scouts learn leadership skills they are expected to demonstrate by being leaders within the troop. As your scout learns, he will advance in rank. Some will continue to reach the rank of Eagle, the highest award in scouting. Troop 115 has produced more than 130 Eagle Scouts as of 2020 and we look forward to more boys attaining this award.

During the scouting year, our troop plans and goes on nine monthly camping trips. To help plan those trips, the troop meets weekly during the school year and will continue meeting as possible  throughout the summer. These meetings create opportunities to learn skills, leadership and to have some fun. In June, Troop 115 will attend  summer camp where scouts can earn merit badges for rank advancement and enjoy the outdoors. We also offer high adventure trips such as hiking portions of the Appalachian Trail, canoeing in the Northern Tier National High Adventure Base, or even sailing at Sea Base locations,  like the Bahamas, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Florida Keys.

We are proud of our current and past Scouts and we’d like to invite you and your son to join Troop 115 and become  part of our great tradition.
